Right I am a complete beginner at this. I'm a single mum to be due in sept and would
Like to take baby to Ireland before Christmas
To see family.
Where do I start with passports?
And
The dreaded Ryanair?

Where are you flying to? If you fly Aer Lingus or Aer Arann you don't need a passport for baby. If you have to fly Ryanair then whether you are Irish or British you can get a British passport for baby within a couple of weeks assuming baby born in UK and you're a UK resident?
Flying with a small baby is grand - my DD mostly slept! Xx

Thank u, and what about baby? Do I just use my car seat? And changing bag as hand luggage?

And we flew with her first at 2.5 weeks and another roughly 20 times in her first year so if you have other questions ask away - have flown on my own and people are very helpful

Baby can sit on your lap - they give you a little seat belt. When she was really tiny I used the BabyBjorn. I always had a handbag and changing bag and they never said anything but I think with Ryanair you can only have the one in which case I'd get a really big one! When DD was smaller and having explosive pops I'd have to bring lots of extra clothes etc but now she needs very little at 13 months.
Will you definitely be flying Ryanair?

I think I'll go with whoever is cheaper at the time to be honest. I just didn't want to say yes it's possible for me to come and see you and then find it all too much and
Let them down you know?

Yes I understand - I was due in June and booked to go home beginning of August and ended up going home in June and it was so much easier than I expected! Small babies sleep kids anyway and really sleep well on flights. I pulls recommend a sling for a small baby - I could go to loo in airport and everything with her in it.
I bottle fed and brought sterilised bottles and cartons (they make you open half).
Don't be afraid to ask for help - most people love to you baby for a few minutes while you take you shoes off for security etc. I find people so helpful for putting up the buggy etc.
You can walk through the security gate with lots of
Slings including the baby Björn which is really handy as you don't need to put baby down at all x
