Keycamp, Siblu or Yelloh?

Which do you prefer??

Went on a Keycamp holiday last year which we really enjoyed but whilst looking for our next break wondered if the other companies were any better.

Any thought??

We have done Eurocamp (same group as Keycamp), Siblu, Canvas, VacanSoleil so not exactly what you are looking for but I think covering similar ground.

First off: Siblu - we will never go with them again. The site couriers and the kids courier were bone idle. The caravan was elderly, tatty and unkempt.

VacanSoleil - okay but you are renting a caravan belonging to the site which makes it difficult to complain and the end of let check made me think of 'marching out'. The site rep ran her finger along a shelf and check it was clean. The accomodation was fine and a bit cheaper than other operators.

Canvas - distinctly British. Accomodation is good quality, couriers are fine.

Eurocamp - A bit more continental than Canvas. Many of the couriers are Dutch though good English speakers. Good quality accomodation.

Our preference is Eurocamp.

I would honestly pick a campsite and then just choose from who go there. There are so many variables, style and location of the vans, personality of the reps, it's not worht being loyal to one company.

I like VacanSoleil cos they're cheaper than the British companies, but not as cheap as booking direct.

(Havent' had a problem with their end of stay check.)

we've done eurcamp, keycamp, canvas and eurosites. gave up with keycamp as they could never get us across channel when we wanted to go, despite me provisionally booking before brochures were released.

they are pretty similar. vary a bit depending on your resort. i would check the reviews ukcampsites.co.uk and also on company ones. get quotes and find out which is cheapest and has anything specific you want eg kids clubs, dishwashers, aircon.

Thanks for the advice, am planning for next year (skint for this year!) so it gives me plenty of time for research and scrimping !

you are sensible to plan in advance. i used to book for may half term the previous aug (and still keycamp couldn't provide ferry crossing) and when we booked with canvas in aug for following july, 2 of the 4 pitches had already been booked. i am quite fussy though and they were pretty popular dates etc

Am lurking not very inconspicuously though. Also looking for next year. Have only done key camp, but loved it. Looking at canvas next year. Have found half term in may, tent, south of France for 160. Bargain.

On another matter what could mial have said that was so controversial? I am intrigued.

Me too! An 8 message thread with a deleted post... I certainly didn't report so shall remain a mystery. Only came back to this by accident too!

parno that certainly a bargain. I'm looking at Brittany as I'm the only adult travelling and I don't fancy driving any further south. I am also a teacher so will be in the next summer holiday. Suspect I will be remortgaging!

Thanks again all.

We normally do Canvas or Siblu (for the kids clubs) but thought they were extortionate this year so we have had a gite in the Dordogne which was much cheaper. Dd wasn/t fussed with the kids club last year and went twice so I didn't see the point in spending the extra. 800 euros a week goes a bloody long way for a gite complex with pool, washing machine, all mod cons etc plus other children to play with.

We have been with Eurocamp and found them to be absolutely fine. I have noticed that Canvas seem to be cheaper if you book a long way in advance but more expensive otherwise. Last year we booked direct with the campsite (Castels). It worked out cheaper but the caravan wasn't as nice as Eurocamp. I'm planning on booking in August for next August and will probably go with Eurocamp again.
