We are in Eastbourne this weekend coming - does anyone know of anywhere we could get an early evening meal where 2 and half year old welcome?! We are staying on the western seafront so anywhere local to there would be particularly good.

Hi hearts, my MIL lives there and we've tried out a handful of places with our 2 year old. The Pavilion on Royal Parade is good. The Grand Hotel is actually very child-friendly & good for afternoon tea! There's a nice Italian place too, on Cornfield Terrace just off the seafront, but we can't remember its name! Looking at a list I think it might be La Lacanda Del Duca.

An Italian sounds ideal - can always guarantee to keep dd quiet with garlic bread if nothing else!! Didn't want to say before really - but we are actually staying at the Grand - at my grandmother's expense! Its her 90th birthday "do" and we are coming from York - so she's putting us up there as that's where the do is! Wow! But probably can't afford to feed ourselves there when we aren't at the do itself so looking at options elsewher.....

hi hearts,

lucky you staying at the Grand! we live near E'bourne and went there with an 8, 6 yr old and baby for my dad's 70th b'day lunch. It's fab and I agree with aelita they are really child friendly as well as posh.

When we go there under our own steam we go to a fish and chip restaurant called the Qualisea - it's on the corner nr Debenhams, cant remember name of road. Always busy and therefore fresh but not sure when it closes in the evening. have a great time!

yes, lucky you, Hearts! I was actually surprised that the Grand wasn't more expensive to eat at for tea, (Granny's birthday treat) but that's comparing it to London hotel prices! I hope your little boy isn't as obsessed with the lifts as mine was - we had to go up and down endlessly. The staff didn't mind though, Smile.
The Italian is pretty nice to eat at - I've been without DS but DH took him last time and I'm told it was just fine. Eastbourne is really lovely, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
