Family hotels - I don't like the idea of...

... the children being fed at tea time and then packed off to bed, with the adults eating later using a babylistening service. I know that makes me slightly weird, but I'd rather eat with all of us together. Are there any childfriendly hotels in Britain where a family can eat together, not separately?

B&B - that way you can all eat out together?

Im sure there are but the London set type hotels are all pretty much the same as regards grown ups and little ones

I think self catering is nice for families, best of all worlds

the chain type hotels rather than the independents are more likely to be happy with families eating together in the main restauarnart

At Sands you certainly used to have the choice. Your table in the dining area was allocated accordingly so that those who were child-free could sit in a quieter area and be seated later. Most hotel "chains" wouldn't worry either way.

If you're weird, then I'm weird too! If it's a family hotel I'd expect us to be able to eat together. We've stayed at a couple in Cornwall where families ate together.

Hi, your not weird, im the same as you. we go on holiday to be together and eating together for us is an important part of the day, plus they learn social skills etc. Must admit, we tend to use sc and then eat at different restaraunts.

We went to Fowey Hall and I didn't realise that was the case, and I too wanted us to eat as a family. They were fine about it but we had to eat earlier (I think before 8pm) which was fine by us.

Also, we paid for dinner B & B and I had no idea that did not include DSs evening meal as part our party, a high tea (sandwiches and the like) was about £15

i find the whole baby listening thing odd so ur not alone in thinking eating at different times is odd!
