We're planning our first ever family package holiday type thing i.e. activities for kids - would love some recommendations

DC are 4 and 2. DH works v long hours and we all just want a real break with lots of fun activities for the DC and some sun. We've always avoided package-type holidays in the past and either had seaside UK holidays visiting relatives or done the sort of thing we'd have done pre-DC and just lugged them along to everything. But this time we just want something easy that will be relaxing for us. Don't really know where to start - please could people with experience in these matters give me some tips?

Thanks v much

If you see a holiday you like online or in a brochure look up the hotel on trip advisor. The reviews are normally pretty accurate if you read enough of them and ignore the moaners. Write a list of things that are important to you. Such as beach access or being able to walk to a village etc and stick to that criteria. If you want warmth avoid going out of season and be sure to get a heated pool at the hotel or apartment. Google the weather for the time of year you want. Read the hotel description very carefully and don't make the assumption that things/services are included unless they are listed.
When my children were young I did Mark Warner activity holidays and that worked well. As they got older we got more ambitious and started to do sightseeing/adventure trips.
Have a fab holiday.

Wow, just did a search on Mark Warner in August and the estimated price was almost £5K for a week's holiday!! That's madness surely...

Look at the family holidays on Thomson website or give them a call explaining what you are after.
