We fancy Copehagen for three nights during October half term. Has anyone been?

Expensive and cold...

:o

My Danish friend tells me that the only times to visit are August or December (embracing the cold). I wanted to go in May and she talked me out of it!

Why? Is it too awful the rest of the year? I am not bothered by cold or expense really as it is only 3 days. I shopped in a blizzard in Rouen the Christmas before last...got to Folkestone after digging ourselves out of South Wales and nearly got stranded in Rouen on way back. We survived. I just fancy visiting it and that is the only time my husband has off the same as me for months so need to go at the end of October or not at all.

I have been in April and at the end of October for a week each time. The weather was mixed both times some sun some showers, lots to do, transport is very good, quick and clean, get a cph card though as saves a fortune and gets you discount entry into museums etc. Cycles are cheap to hire, boat cruise/tour was nice and reasonable. Lots of good food, bier and pastries. Nice and flat so even for unfit me it was fine cycling about.

We are planning to return next year but travelling about a bit more.

I've been for a day before and loved it - would happily have stayed longer. It is beautiful and really easy to walk around. Have fun!

We went before we had dcs and loved it. We went in August and the weather was fine for us: neither hot nor cold. There was plenty to do and there were lots of nice pubs and coffee shops to laze around in too.
