Paris with a 1 year old?

Can anyone tell me if DH and I would be mad to take our 1 year old DD to Paris for a long weekend in April? Will we be able to go out for dinner with her in the buggy (asleep if we are very lucky!)? We took her to Rome when she was 5 months old, and had few problems as we could sit outside in lots of places, but many were too small to fit the buggy in the evening when full.

Can anyone recommend a central, child friendly hotel?

TIA

Hi Teacups. No that wouldn't be mad at all. It's a great place for a baby/toddler. We lived there until DD was 15 months.
There are lots of restaurants that welcome babies in prams (even if they're awake.) Some suggestions - Boeuf sur le Toit, Assiette Lyonnaise in 8th, Da Lat in 18th (down & dirty Vietnamese, but they don't even notice you've got a baby.)And lots more that I can't think of now. There are so many big brasseries that have lots of room for the buggy. There are also quite a lot that put heaters in 'tents' outside.
If the weather's good then obviously there are loads of parks for you and DD. The Jardin d'Acclimation is pretty civilised as childrens' parks go.
Don't know if your DD is walking yet, but ours loves walking around the big open spaces in Louvre etc.
Sorry, can't help with the hotel.

I can't help with a hotel but wanted to say have a good time in Paris. I'm sure it will be fine.

No specific hotel recommendation but have a look at www.accorhotels.com, they are a french chain and include Ibis & Novotel. Also look at www.tripadvisor.com for personal recommendations.
