Hi,
I don't think I've done a package style holiday since I was about 19 (so a lonnggg time ago!) and I'm not sure what to expect. My Mum and I were going to head off with DD for a cheap late week in the sun, the week after next, as DP can't take time off then. I've found a ridiculously cheap deal to this resort, which is sold as a Thomson's family resort, and at 4*, it's only £650 for the 3 of us for a week! Has anyone been, or is there something horribly wrong with it?? The tripadvisor reviews seem good, but DD (3) is probably a bit young for most of the activities. Am I just having a wobble, as we usually do things in a bit more of a 'winging it' fashion? TIA

I went there last year on a cheapie last-minute deal with DH, and was really tried that it would be crap, as we'd had a bad experience with a package holiday to Greece before.
It. Was. Amazing.
Seriously.
There are three pools, one of which leads right onto a very nice beach. (you have to pay for loungers on the beach, but there are plenty by the pools if you don't want to) The pool bar serves cheap and tasty food and drinks. The accommodation is fairly basic, but cheerful and definitely clean!
We don't have kids, but the place was full of mostly families. Thomson run kids clubs, which we saw occasionally when we walked past or when they came out to the pool - they seemed to be having a blast! I think a three year old would be ok with the activities they were doing, which seemed to be arts and crafts, dressing up, or singing and dancing. Thomson the dog is always around too! TBH, I imagine she'd have a great time just in the pools and on the beach though.
Thomson have great excursions too, although we tend to go on more adult oriented ones, I remember they had a fab sounding 'Pirates Day' for kids!
The only downside would be that the local town has very little for kids, it's mostly restaurants (some very nice ones though) and souvenir shops. But we didn't really want much from the town apart from a good dinner and local wine, so we were very happy!
We are actually considering going back this year, even though we have a 'rule' to never visit the same place twice. We both agree it was one of the nicest holidays we've ever had, and we've been to some pretty swanky locations!
Go ahead and book, I don't think you could be disappointed. Everyone we spoke to said it was their 3rd/4th/whatever year in a row, and no one was unhappy with the place, which almost never happens!

Thanks loads. That's brilliant! We actually booked it this morning, as it was too good a deal to let go, and I've been a bit uneasy all day because I too think it may well be crap! I think it will suit us just fine from what you say. DD loves the water, and it's good if there are some little friends for her to play with. Our worry was that it would be over run with screaming kids, but sounds like there's plenty of places to go. I think we might hire a car for a couple of days, and explore around the island, and the restaurants and bars sound ideal for us to veg out around. Just need to convince DD that sleeping in her buggy is a good thing, so Mum and I can linger over pudding/ a glass of wine. :)
