Post Office Check and Send service

It's £9, seems a bit of a rip off to me, does everyone else think it's worth it?
I've spent ages getting everything together and am tempted to just special deliver it to the PP office.
Tight of me I know but I hate being ripped off.
I suspect you go to the front of the queue don't if you do check and send.
If anyone really knows it to be better I'll stump up the extra!

I agree with you. If you are of average intelligence and have checked and double checked that you got everything then I don't think why you should fork out for it...

Thanks CKat!
I feel there's something gratuitous about it, a basic queue jump.

I wouldn't bother if I were you. I checked and double checked my application, sent recorded delivery but not next day as was quite pricey. Got passports back 14 days later. Job done.

I'm a worrier so have used the service a few times and the passports have come back in record time. The first time I used it I needed to get new photos done as the woman at the counter said they wouldn't accept two that had been signed, it had to be just one (friend signed two by accident). I wouldn't have though that kind of minute detail was important so I glad I was told.

If you're not in a rush to get it back though i wouldn't bother.

I use it when I get DD's renewed. They are really fussy with the photos these days and the eyes in the photo have to fit in a specific area.
DH got DD's photos done in a kiosk and they weren't acceptable as her eyes weren't in the range. This rule applies to all over 6 year olds.

So her photos were rejected and I had to get new photos done in a shop. I wouldn't have thought anything about it if I hadn't used the checking service as the photos were similar to the last passport she had.

Thanks, I've had the photos done by one of those photographers in a shop who specialise in passport photos, it's just too hard to get it right in those photo booths, what I don't know it the extent to which the post office ones are fast tracked, I'd love to know from an insider if it's worth the £9.
I think I'm going to risk just sending it special delivery and including the £3 for documents too.
