Having saved up my Tesco vouchers for what seems like FOREVER we're finally heading to Eurodisney Grin

We've got 3 DC aged 8, 6 and 4 so taking the buggy for the wee one.

Who's been and what do we HAVE to do? Where is best to eat? What should we avoid?

A leetle help please Smile

You will have such a good time! We've been a few times we love it so much. One thing I'd recommend is booking all your restaurants for dinner in advance, because otherwise you won't get decent child friendly mealtimes. We love going to Cafe Mickey on the first evening, because you see a lot of the popular characters there so you won't be chasing them in the park.

Make sure you factor in enough time for the Studios. Everyone heads for the main park but the Studios has such a lot. I'd definately recommend the Stitch Live show, Animagique and the Playhouse Disney show. And the Stunt Show is brilliant too. My DH and DD (8) are big rollercoaster fans and love the Rock n Roller coaster.

In the main park I love the Buzz Lightyear ride, and of course Small World. They love Thunder Mountain. Use the Fastpass system as much as you can - you use your park entrance ticket in the machines on certain popular rides to get a pass to ride during a time slot, with virtually no queuing. Saves loads of time.

Have a great time!

Thanks!

Do you phone ahead to book the cafes then? We've got 3 whole days set aside to use for the visit so want to make the most of them Smile

I hated it but kids love it. you can hire buggy there, we needed it for our 4 year old as tired out from all the walking. Expect to queue.

Growlithe · 28/05/2012 19:57

The last time we went DH did phone ahead yes. There are concierges in all the hotels who will make bookings for you but last time he was like a man with a mission to spend the maximum time in the parks Grin Where are you staying?

BibiBelle · 28/05/2012 20:22

I'll just take ours so we can have it in the airport etc

We're not staying within the Disney hotels - it was too much money as we'd have needed two rooms. We're staying at the Dream Castle hotel so just going to tell the kids it IS Disney seeing as it looks like a castle GrinWink

kilmuir - we're under no illusions about the queues but we'll manage!

I've not stayed at that one but it looks beautiful. What we found with staying at the non Disney ones is that the same shuttle bus services all of the non Disney hotels. This is not a problem unless you are leaving the parks at the same time as everyone else to go straight back to the hotel (only happens if you are there at the time of year when the fireworks are on and the parks are open late) then there can be a queue. Basically if you are there for the fireworks leg it as soon as they are finished Grin

Yes you must expect to queue for the rides, but they are worth queuing for! The only queue I really didn't enjoy was the one to meet the princesses. You don't say if you have DDs but if you do, that queue can be two hours long, and the princesses keep changing over so you can't guarantee which ones you will meet. Angry I've got two DDs so of course I've done it.

BibiBelle · 28/05/2012 21:29

I have 3 DDs. DD1 wouldn't care a jot she'll just be happy to be there. DD2 is determined to be a boy, has cropped hair and refuses to wear anything but boys clothing so will have no interest in meeting the princesses Grin DD3 on the other hand will not leave the house without full matching skirt/shoes/hair done/tiara/wand etc and this is just to playgroup so I've no doubt we'll be waiting!!!

We've only got tickets for some of the days, I take it that doesn't matter and we can get them there ok?

For lunch the earl of sandwich is about the best value and cheapest or my top tip is to make sure you stock up with food and snacky stuff at the little shop in the railway station.

BibiBelle · 28/05/2012 21:34

We've been told that too hermione, apparently there is a wee shop and a larger one round the back?

You can get your sneaky bottle of wine for your room from that shop too and fall asleep before you finish it .

conkertree · 28/05/2012 21:51

If the fireworks are on when you are there, definitely go. We went a few weeks ago, and hummed and hawed over going as it started at 10pm and we have a 4, 2 and 8 month old, but on the last night we went, and it was just amazing. Looked like the whole castle moved.

I'd totally agreee with Growlithe - some of the shows in the studios park are great - Stitch live was our favourite. The Finding Nemo ride was awesome too, but it usually has the biggest queue and no fastpass.

BibiBelle · 28/05/2012 22:00

I'm not sure if they're on when we're there, shall check.

I don't know about a larger shop but the station one is brill. Fizzy wine for €6 a bottle and it was very tasty.

BibiBelle · 29/05/2012 20:31

Ooh I love fizzy wine Grin

I folded and told DD1 this morning but I'm so NOT telling the other two till Sat morning. When we're at the airport. Getting on the plane Grin

I thought the best restaurant was the Blue Lagoon one. It's underground ,all dark and atmospheric (so good if it's boiling hot or raining) and the water ride goes past it. The food was very nice with a great and some unusual choices (ostrich steak) and the children's menu comes out all at once in a mickey mouse shaped arrangement of bowls. Not cheap at E30 for two courses but not the worse especially Disney prices.
We did a few of the other restaurants but they were either very burger bar or very boring and expensive (the one in princess castle). www.dlrpmagic.com/planning/dining/restaurant-menus/blue-lagoon-restaurant/

That's a great link nothingoldcanstay thank you Smile
