ice pack/cool bag in hand luggage?

Dd has some tablets which need to be kept in the fridge. Pharmacist reckons they'll be fine in a cool bag with an ice pack. But, just in case hold luggage goes missing, can I take a frozen ice pack in hand luggage? It would be as small a one as I can find, so under the 100ml level - I'm sure I've seen really small ones somewhere.

Airport website doesn't say anything about ice packs, so I wondered if anyone knew?

If you have really small ice packs it should be OK. Anything over 100ml is likely to fall foul of the liquid/gel regulations. I have some fun ones for lunch boxes like this but you can also get much cheaper basic ones.

You may need to take them out of the cool bag and put them in a ziploc bag for a few minutes while you go through security. (Does all this stuff make anyone feel safer Hmm)

thanks, I'll get those tiny ones I think, and find an equally tiny cool bag/box.

I take good quality ziplock bags with me and get one of the airside concessions to fill with ice for me once we are through security. These act as really good cool packs for our coolbag.
