I have just found an amazing deal on tinternet: £501 per adult for ten nights in a 4* hotel, transfers included.

AIBU to book it? My cursor is hovering over "Book Now" but I don't want to live to regret it...

I luff Kefalonia :-) been a few times. Beautiful beautiful island.

I really don't think the islands will be affected too much whatever happens and if they do come out of the euro the changeover of currency wont happen over night. I would book it.

Even if the currency does change overnight, I bet people will be more than willing to accept euros! Probably more so than drachmas. A lot of people here are already hoarding euros just in case.

I wish I was going to Kefalonia! I'm staying in boring Alexandroupoli :(

Take stirling - euro destabilised by Greece situation. Possibly plan for possibility of getting stranded there if they pull out of euro; prob disruption/strikes etc

Greece is fantastic. Stayed in numerous hotels on various islands and always enjoyed myself.
The Greek people always make you feel welcome and prices for drinks etc, are generally good.

I'm going to Kefalonia. Went to Santorini two years ago and it is absolutely beautiful. Hope you are planning to laze around a pool not on the beach though, as the black sand is very, very hot!

I think its a tricky dilemma - the Greek people need you to come on holiday and spend your euros/drachmas to boost their economy but I would be personally worried about getting stuck there if the government run out of money to pay the workers - ie air traffic controllers.

I know its not the same but dh got stuck in Athens for days during the ash problem. He ended up having to come home over land & sea. It took a really long time & he said only recently that he's glad we werent having to do that journey with the dc.

So I wouldnt go at the moment - but thats just my opinion.

going to greece in a few weeks, will be a complete bonus if we get stuck there Grin
