Hello, am off to Bude at the weekend with DH and 17mo ds. The property we are staying in is rather small and I'm a bit concered that if this awful weather doesn't stop soon then my plans to wear ds out at the beach every day will fall apart very quickly. Any ideas for places reasonably close and preferubly rather cheap where we can do something other than climb the walls? Cheers :)

We went here last year. DS was 5, but there was stuff for younger ones.

Harlequins. Has soft play and there's a wave pool as well.

Full points to any link that has a picture both of soft play and a well stocked bar!! Cheers :)

Come up to the Big Sheep, also has soft play.here. You also get money off the softplay (pirate themed) in the outlet village with your Big Sheep ticket iirc. Not so far from Bude.

Ps, what awful weather? It's splitting the stones atm in North Devon.

Nooooo! I'm going on holiday, I demand my sunshine :( I've bought a ruddy picnic blanket and everything!! Will have a look at the big sheep :)

I second Sue's suggestion of The Big Sheep -excellent fun!

SuePurblybilt · 08/05/2012 13:42

No, splitting the stones is a good thing. The SUN is splitting the stones Grin

It's sunny here, has been all week pretty much. Rain last night and a little yesterday but mostly warm and sunny. Sunday was tropical Grin. Bude may be a little more blustery but shouldn't be too different.

BornSicky · 08/05/2012 13:47

It's been pudding it down, then sun, then rain. Big sheep is good fun and Atlantic village as sue said.

SuePurblybilt I love you so much right now. Raining every day here in Essex. Every day! DH works for a church as well, have asked him to put a complaint in with his boss Wink

No honestly, Sunday was t shirt and skirt and flip flops all day, yesterday was raining in the afternoon but it passed in a couple of hours. Big rain last night and it's lovely now, I'm about to mow the lawn.

However, being Devon, it could be snowing five miles along the road so don't blame me if Bude is flooded Grin

I love how mumsnet gives better weather advice than the BBC Grin sadly don't think I'll be managing any outlet shopping though, even at 17 months DS makes it clear that boys do not do shops :(

Doesn't matter, it's a bit crap anyway tbh Wink. But it is at least undercover.

I shall feel very guilty now if I've jinxed the weather and it pisses down all week.
