We're flying to majorca on July with our 2 DC's and as its a super early flight we wanted to take our p&t to the gate so they can both sleep. The Thomas cook advisor we booked with said she couldn't see why not bit that's not very conclusive so wondered of anybody had experience doing this?
Many thanks

I've never had any problems taking a buggy to the gate on any scheduled flight, short or long haul, be it with Easyjet or a full service airline. Never travelled on a charter flight though.

Our P&T did a lot of flights, I bought the travel bag for it and it was a very wise investment. It travelled half way round the world very happily in the bag.

I've always taken buggys to the gate. You just get them tagged at check in and then they take them from you just before you board. Be warned though, despite what they might say, you very rarely get them back at the gate at the other end, normally you get them on the baggage carousel which is a pain if you are having to carry young children and bags.

I took my P & T once and to be honest, don't think I'd do it again. Even though I had the travel bag, the handle still got damaged and if you read the small print they more often then not refuse liability for any damage to buggys. Do you have a cheaper folding double buggy you could take?

Thank you for your replies :) I shall take the wrap for the youngest incase we don't get it back for a while! Eek no we don't have a cheaper double unfortunately anything else won't fit on the boot with the luggage on the way to the airport! so I think we'll just have to take the chance :'(
Thank you for the advice both of you :)

I've taken many buggies on many flights - none have been damaged in any way. Those mentioning taking a cover for it, I'd be more annoyed if that got damaged! Buggies get bashed and battered over the years, so it's no real biggie if it gets scuffed anyway, surely? (none of ours ever did on flights, tho).

PS as another poster said, there is no issue taking buggies to the gate, but it is more of a pain at the other end, as you have to queue at passport control etc without it. They are, however, usually first off the carousel.

Have always taken a pram and has always been first off.
