Any ideas for August this year - we are attending a family wedding and want to combine it with a weeks holiday - for 4 adults and a 4 year old and 2 year old - preferably not a caravan (no offence!)

Know a fabulous place in Crail near beaches and playparks. That's not too far from Kinross.

Crail is gorgeous, very attractive. Somewhere cheap and uninspiring to stay in the area - Travelodge on outskirts of Glenrothes - there might be rooms still available for £26 per night. Glenrothes itself is no great shakes, but it's near some beautiful little coastal towns/villages.

I'll have to get the map out and see where Crail is - alipiggie what is the accommodation called that you know?

There is a travel lodge in Kinross itself, we had a room with a double bed and a bed setee with a pull out single, room was OK size.

just outside Kinross with Cottages 4 you £426 for a week.

Windlestrae Hotel is nice.

Have to say Crail would be a bit of a trek after the wedding but is lovely. Nice quite almost private beaches to the south along the coastal footpath.
Follow the footpath to Anstruther to visit the Fishing Museum and the good chippys.
Visit Crail pottery and watch them making pots.
See the live lobsters at the harbour and buy a fishing line and catch crabs off the harbour wall, make sure tide is in or harbour stinks.

What kind of accomodation are you looking for and what kind of things to do? I will give more info .

Glenrothes, Perth and Kirkcaldy aren't top of my list of holiday destinations either.

Stirling and Edinburgh are near on direct roads, could stay or just go for the day.

Perths not that bad - but not for a holiday - would certainly agree Fife is good - Crail is lovely but don't know anywhere to stay - St Andrews is pricey but nice with lovely clean beach.

No Perth quite good for shopping but not for a holiday, sorry no offence to any Perth People .

Sorry andyrobo lot of personal rubbish at the moment with dh and me. Property letting coming is East Fife Letting and the property itself is Sunny Neuk. It's a modern, clean semi right near coastal footpath. And yes you've got to go to Anstruther (pronounced Enster up there) for the fish and chips. Superb little shop run by Columbian man and Scottish wife up alley way. Great beaches at St Andrews and Aquarium, also good sports centre for swimming pool. Also try Craigtoun Park brilliant for day out. Lived in fife for 2yrs. Emigrated with dh to Us, now heading back. So if you want more info on fife you can cat me.
