We went on Sunday and really enjoyed it. My 9year old DD had the audio guide but didn't really use it as the clips were at least 5min long and she was desperate to see the next thing. She really enjoyed riding on the broomstick thought the queue was quite long. The pictures weren't to badly priced with on being £12 and 4 were £20. There is a photo station in the shop where you can be a 'wanted' wizard but the broomstick ones are much better.
The cafe bit in the middle was a bit of a disappointment as it was quite small. It would have been a good spot for a picnic if it hadn't been raining so hard!
Overall a very good day out. The way you get into the great hall was fantastic!

We were there on Sunday too. It was pretty good, I think, though busier than I expected after reading reviews here and elsewhere. Maybe that's because we were an afternoon slot so the crowds built up and with the weather being so foul, maybe people lingered.

We didn't buy food but drinks were reasonable. The Butterbeer was a waste of money, however, as most was thrown away but dd was determined to try it.

The gift shop is very tasteful but not pocket money prices. I was pleased we had decided to splurge as there's no way I could have done the usual "Here's £2.50 each kids, get what you want". They would have been empty-handed and disappointed. We managed to spend £60 on 3 cuddlies and 2 keyrings Hmm.

You will enjoy it, have fun!

Yes, absolutely. You are only "guided" through The Great Hall at the start and then left to your own devices.

It was amazing-you can spend as little or as much time through the tour. The people with audio guides annoyed me a bit as they just stand like lemons in front of things whereas I wanted to actually read them.
Gift shop is very pricey the souvenir guide alone was a tenner (but a must for me)

All in all I felt the tour is worth the money and I loved every second (apart from the butter beer bleurgh!!)

We took our 7 and 9 year old boys in half-term. Had a great time. Lovely friendly service everywhere. Food good value and not junk. But the Butterbeer?- creamy soda with cream floated on top for £3. Yuk! Gift shop a rip-off. The boys bought chocolate frogs for about £8 - nice box though. We travelled down from the North where the reputation of the South is for off-handedness, we were really taken by how polite and helpful everyone was.
