Key Camp France Loire Valley recommendations?

We've never been before and I'd love your recommendations.
We've three children aged 12, 9 and 5 months (will be 8 months when we go!)
Would like somewhere lively with a brilliant water park, but more privacy with the mobile home, (don't want a tent)
Would like the Jura region of Loire valley (quite fancy a day trip to Geneva!) but am open to other suggestions on France, but further south, not Normandy/Brittany etc.
Any suggestions for a Keycamp virgin?

errrrr... are you sure you mean the Loire valley? Jura is on the east of France (northern alps). The Loire valley tends to be thought of as being south west of Paris.

Jura is a high region and can be subject to the matching weather.

The Loire is a lower region, closer to sea level, not mountainous.

Do you want mountains? Why do you want to go to Geneva?

If beaches arent your thing then I would seriously look at the Dordogne. There are some very nice campsites, more spacious than coastal sites with excellent swimming pools. We have stayed at www.penyrals.com. It is a fairly small site but pools were good. The restaurant was excellent. We went with Eurocamp (but Eurocamp & Keycamp are the same company).

Please dont leave booking too late, they do get booked up.

I love the look of Peneyrals, looks lovely. When did you go? Is the weather guaranteed warmer than the UK in July/August? How far a drive from Calais?

Sarlat is 8 hours drive (ie at the wheel) from Calais. We went in May half term last year and the weather was a lot better than UK but in the summer it is one of the hottest parts of France.

When we went last year we booked an overnight stop in Normandy with Eurocamp which is well worth it with DCs as they got to have a run around and a swim.

The campsite was good. It does have a few steep parts but the pitches are on terraces.

An alternative if you want somewhere which is a bit livelier in the same region:

Top tip, if you want to visit a cave (and there are some good ones to see) then you will probably need to book tickets before you go.
