French campsites for babies/toddlers

Hi, we're about to book a week on a Canvas or Eurocamp site in Brittany for August, with DS aged 7 and DD who'll be 18 months then. If you hire cots from the campsite, what are they like (comfy mattresses, travel cots?) and typically where do they fit? We're deciding between a 2 bed and 3 bed, depending on where we can fit her cot. Also, if you book overnight ferry crossings with a cabin, where does your little one (who'd normally have a cot) sleep?

Any other general tips on taking a toddler on this kind of holiday - very, very welcome! This will be the first holiday outside the UK for with all 4 of us, and it feels as though we might need to pack a LOT of stuff!

Thanks

We stayed in a 3 bedroomed caravan with Eurocamp when ds2 was 18 months old and his travel cot fitted between the twin beds in one of the bedrooms. We've also stayed in a 2 bedroomed caravan and I think the beds were closer together so a cot might not have fitted. I think we hired a cot.

We didn't take an overnight ferry, so I can't comment on that.

We did hire a baby bath which was very useful. I can't really remember much else. Will have a think and post again.

Thanks Rosy, if you think of anything else you remember I'd be grateful!

Re the overnight ferry - we did that last year with Brittany ferries (DD was 1yo). DS (4yo) slept on one of the bottom bunks.

We booked a cot with them (travel cot style) and a 4-bed cabin (2 bunk on each side), the cot fitted on the floor in the middle of the 2 lower beds, pushed up to the far wall. So you had floor space left at the front of the cabin, bathroom area. Was plenty enough room and it worked well.

Can't say anything about the mobile homes, as we took our own tent. We stayed at camping Bel in the Vendee, it was lovely and family friendly, although a bit further south than you are going.
