A day out somewhere warm in Hertfordshire

Anyone know a good, warm place to take 4 adults and 4 children aged 1- 11 in Hertfordshire today? We were going to go round Hatfield House but it is shut till April.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Thank you

The farm and adventure playground will be open at Hatfield house.

Stockwood discovery centre is good (near Luton).

Have a good day!

Ooh thanks, looking up the discovery centre now.

Sorry, I should have said we wanted to go inside the House at Hatfield. Because we got really freezing yesterday and want to stay warm now. The farm, adventure playground and stableyard are great at Hatfield House. Just worried about being cold!

You could wear coats?

belindarose · 01/04/2012 08:53

Sorry, that was mean. Hope you find somewhere nice.

British Schools Museum in Hitchin is open on Sunday afternoons. My two love it and there are lots of hands-on things for kids to do. There's a great cafe on Bridge Street just over the road called Just Desserts which serves fantastic desserts and cakes, too!

I'd forgotten about Hitchin Schools museum, it is brilliant. Thanks for the cafe recommendation.

What about the national History Museum at Tring - here

Full of stuffed animals - may not be your thing but was erm interesting on a wet day!!

BabyTeeth · 03/04/2012 18:07

Thank you for the NHM Tring link. The displays are quite something there, aren't they?

Yes - not my cup of tea - was all a little overwhelming, but we went with my brother and his wife and 3 girls and they have been a few times and love it. It was an experience indeed!!
