Got to be Castaways in Kingswood (the church building opposite pizza hut. Its great there.

Also Avon Valley country park at Saltford have a soft play open weekends and school holidays which you won't have to pay for at that age (actually none of them will probably charge you)but in the summer you would have to pay to get into the park, but memberships are great there anyway.

There's a wacky warehouse at longwell grean attached to the pub opposite the Vue cinema - but don't go there this week because their heating is still broken and its bloomin' freezing HTH

GeorgieVickyLou · 02/02/2006 20:29

Thanks Hun, I will look into those.

Try Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre, especially at lunch time (it can be a bit busy in the mornings). Also Easton leisure centre, or Planet Kids on Brunel Way. Think Kingswood Leisure Centre (in Downend!!!) have soft play as well, but is not purpose built like Bradley Stoke.

There is a new place called Jump in Cribbs Causeway. WestCountryLass and I went there afew weeks ago. Expensive but very nice. Excellent range of toys and activities for little ones and brilliant for older ones too.

GeorgieVickyLou · 02/02/2006 21:23

THanks all, i didn't even give leisure centres a thought Cribbs sounds good shopping and play (any excuse) how expensive is expensive? still worth a visit though as a one off i'm sure (starts planning what shops to go in)

No, it is not near the shops in Cribbs - more the industrial estate - and you have to stay with your child.

Babies free
Toddlers £5
Older children £6
Adults £1.50

For that you are guaranteed 2 hours minimum play.

If you want to leave your child and go shopping (and who can blame you?!) you would need the creche in the shopping mall. I don't know how much that is I'm afraid as I have 4 kids and it is too expensive to pay for all of them.

tortoiseshell · 03/02/2006 08:58

Ikea do a really good system where you can leave them for 45 mins while you shop, there is soft play type stuff, and they do craft etc. Think it is free, or at least cheap! We've used it and been really impressed.

bagshaw · 03/02/2006 19:07

Where abouts is it near Cribbs? And is there stuff for a 2 year old? Cheers

GeorgieVickyLou · 03/02/2006 19:12

Yes there is plenty for little ones to do, if they don't want to go on the bigger stuff. A ball pit, bouncy castle, trampoline, huge area walled off with toys for them to play with - all sorts of stuff, including giant lego, dressing up clothes, ride ons, push along toys, etc.

GeorgieVickyLou · 03/02/2006 20:44

Avon Valley country park, any one know what age range the soft play is for? i have friends coming to visit in May and this could be a good day out for us all thier DS will be 6 months and my DD 13. Had a look at the web site and it looks great but kind find any ages.

GeorgieVickyLou · 03/02/2006 20:45

Ooooo, yes, Jump is fab for a special treat

Castaways, Wacky Warehouse and Pirate Petes at the Wishing Well pub by Bottelinos in Emersons Green otherwise for your side of town. Would not recommend Kingswood LC as really dingy room and very basic and small softplay/room.

GeorgieVickyLou · 03/02/2006 23:36

The Mill House? knew they had a play area but always thought it was for older kids. might try that one out then. Jump sounds fab (as a treat price wise) so might give that a go. Thanks Hun.

No worries, also, Easton Leisure Centre has softplay, it is better for older kids but it does have a baby area and is cheap as chips
