Mark Warner Clubs in Greece

Hi, we think of going to a mark warner summer club at the end of May/Bed of June. Our baby will then be 8/9 months and we want him to be able to play on the sand! We are looking at the 4 clubs in Greece (Lemnos, Lakitira, Paleros and San Agostino). San Agostino is supposed to be the nicest one. Which club(s) do you recommend? Which one has the best childcare, food and the best accomodation? Is it preferable to bring baby food and nappies etc...Or is the baby food good there?
We initially wanted to go to club med but there are only a few clubs with baby clubs and none in Europe!
Any other tips, hints or advice welcome!
Let me know.

paleros not lovely sand, it is a beach, but it is just grey dusty stuff. Not fun play stuff for little babes.

Thanks for the tip, do you know which one has a nice sandy beach?

Ah, now I understand your question on the other thread. Lakitira has a decent beach, which although is public, due to the location is practically private. There is a fair amount of shade as well.

I think that the only downside of the baby club is that it is in a darkish location (little sublight). However as the nannies are totally into sun protection for little ones that probably isn't a bad thing, and they do take the babies out for walks. And there are cost in the room for naps, which seem to work OK. Childacre ratio is excellent, and your baby will have the same nanny all week.

At Lakitira there is a shop which sells nappies. The kitchen provides purees each day, as well as Nestle jars of food. There are no shortage of highchairs! I did find the choice of baby food limiting at one visit I have to say, but in fact I just made a list of what sort of thing I wanted and the childcare manager went to the local town and bought them for me. I do find that their customer service tends to be very good and they will try their best to solve any difficulties that you have.

MW childcare is truly excellent in my experience, esp at Lakitira. 2 beaches were fine (nice to have separate kiddy one). However, personally didn't go a bundle on Lakitira - too big, terrible food, rather unfriendly due to scale of the place. Kos also rather a cultural desert! Many go back yr after yr tho' guess depends what you like - if watersports are yr thing, you'll love it!

thanks for your responses...San Agostino is supposed to have the nicest beach accordingly to the reservation dept...Do u know anyone who's been there?
Any other suggestion for holidays with baby? I can't find nice baby friendly beach hotels....

simply travel? depends what you want - many types of baby-friendly - do you want childcare?
Seems that the beach is v important for you, in which case, from memory Lakitira would fit the bill. No experience of San Agostino, sorry.

Lakitira is big, but actually it isn't always crowded, especially if you are going out of school holiday time (and I believe that they've been full for the May half-term week for a while now).

We're trying Lakitira this September, once the school holidays are over. I have no idea what to expect, but after weighing each resort up and comparing them for weeks on end, we had to make a decision!

We've just decided not to do MW! Dd2, who will be about 14 months, was costing about the same as the full price adults! £200 for her basic charge, £400 for under occupancy of the room, £460 for her childcare for 2 weeks, total £1060. The adults were £1168. Seemed a bit mad really.
