We are thinking of booking but would like to know how much extras cost. The brochure/website don't give you these. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect please?

Perhaps someone who has been recently could help.

I'd like to know this too, we were thinking of going in sept but would like to know how much dearer meals and that are compared to say butlins.

Imafairy · 02/02/2006 14:30

2dds - have you searched the archives? There were lots of posts in November I think.
We went in September, but didn't do a lot of the activities, and I can't remember how much things were, so I'm not much use. Basically you pay for everything except swimming. Bike hire I think was 20 quid per adult for the weekend. TeddyBears' picnic was about £5. I'm sure if you phone them they'll mail or fax you through a price list.

what activities do you want to know the price for?

tortoiseshell · 02/02/2006 14:40

Seem to remember everything is very expensive, but haven't been since was a kid myself!

crunchie · 02/02/2006 14:40

IIRC toddler activities are about £5 for things like teddybears picnic.

Kids clubs are £15 for 3 hrs
Spa is £25 for 3 hrs (but they don't throw you out and you could stay all day)

Things like archery/horse riding etc can be pricey, up to £30 for 1/2 - 3/4 hr.

Meals aren't that cheap. In the pool area there is a cafe with kids meals about £3, adults £5, but this is the cheapest. Huckleburys is about £15 a head for adults, if you go early eve I think it is £1 for kids (or used to be before 6.30pm) Indian is £15 ish a head. Sapinere is about £40 a head (posh one off place)

We tend to self cater with nice stuff bought from the shop, a little more than supermarket prices, but cheaper than eating out.

Babysitters are good value at about £5 an hour (no matter number of kids)

foxinsocks · 02/02/2006 14:41

you can get special deal in the spa where it is £18 for 3 hours if you have your kids in the time out club at the same time (which for the one ours were in, over 3s, was £12 for 3 hours I think).

Thanks. Interested in prices for hiring bikes and activities for nearly 3 year old and one year old please. Also, is there a cinema?

There is a cinema and you have to check which films are on. Not sure how big it is though as we didn't get a chance to go. CEntre Parcs is great - we had a fabulous time there, but I wouldn't recommend any of the restaurants apart from La Sapiniere - which, incredibly, was on a par with some of the great restaurants we've been to in London - truly amazing food and service - well worth the money. I'd agree with the earlier post - def buy nice food and cook yourselves in the villa. Have a wonderful time!

JiminyCricket · 02/02/2006 19:34

Definitely budget a lot for activities (if you go and then just spend all week moaning about how expensive everything is and not doing anything then it gets a bit boring, so i think you're right to plan ahead), tho for a three year old the free soft play and swimming pool will keep them busy a lot of the time.

JiminyCricket · 02/02/2006 19:34

also if you're going in the summer there's plenty of adventure play outside

crunchie · 03/02/2006 12:42

There is a cinema at Elevdon, we usually go as it isn't too expensive and you get a big bag of sweets for the kids

Firefox · 03/02/2006 13:24

IIRC, two/three weeks before you go, Center parcs send you a brochure of all the activities they do, and the associated prices. It's then up to you to book what you want. Although you can do this once you get there, it's been recommended to do this at the earliest possibility as some of the activities do get booked up rather quickly. Beware though - all those £5 activities can add up rather quickly !
