Spending the day in London on a Sunday with a 3 year old and 6 year old

Off up to London for the day in a couple of weeks. We have a party to go to between 3pm-6pm, I thought it would be nice to drive up in the morning, get into London about 10 ish, do something nice with the girls then have lunch and go to party.

The only think I can think of is the zoo which dh is not keen on.

Any other suggestions? I will be about 30 wks pg and waddling so don't want to walk far, although the girls will have steam to work off.

Sounds perfect

(except for suzywong being homesick, which I'm sorry about)

at the risk of sounding like a mum could you contemplate sandwiches? I don;t find the museum cafes very child-friendly (ludicoursly enough) and resent spending vast amount so of money on stuff that doesn't get eaten. we take marmite sarnies and if we're out for the day half tea and cake in teh afternoon - which you'll no doubt have at the party. One day 'm going to buy myself a thermos.

I was going to suggest Harrods but went for the cultire option. Mine love it too and we always have to eat at Planet Harrods. It's worth going there just for Krispy Kreme.
I've been forcing them there on every London outing since they were born as I used to work there and have to go back for nostalgia.

s'orright tamum, I found a shop which sells Frys chocolate cream and Toffee Crisp , plus "The Bill" is on cable 24/7

And it's much nicer than Hamleys (they have smelly loos and awkward escalator arrangements).

I was in the V&A the other day, and couldn't imagine taking a child round it, but the Science museum looked FAB. Definitely would take a child there, and the cafe is nice too!

coulndn't do V and A without the back packs - but they're great.
