Pushchairs for holiday - which one is best?

Hi all - we've booked a holiday- yippee! Now I want to pick your brains about which buggy we should buy. DS will be 8 months when we go so we need to get a cheap but super light buggy to take with us. I like the Maclaren Volo - is this the lightest on the market at around 4kg? But it's also quite expensive at around £45. Anyone got any other suggestions?

does it need to be extremely light? Will you be carrying it much? Personally, I like the Mothercare Jive, it's cheap, robust, handles well and folds down small.

and also the mothercare one has a degree of recline, so better for little one too sleep in, wheeras the volo doesn't recline.

i always buy a cheapo mothercare one when i go abroad, so that when it gets recked with sand, water, ice cream, drinks, i can just leave it behind or bin it when i get back. it saves my nice one that i have at home from getting ruined. but if you want it to last longer than the holiday i would go for a maclaren one, that has a lie back facility, try ebay or the freeads for a second hand one to keep costs down.

oh yes, good point about the recline, as on holiday they usually have a lot of naps in their pushchairs. The Jive reclines nicely.

Get one without fixed (ie movable) front wheels if possible as well

Hmm.. very good point about the naps and the reclining seat! Think I'll go for the Jive then! MAny thanks girls!
