I have a big age gap between my eldest and youngest, and wonder what you would recommend doing for 2 days in eurodisney so that they will all be happy...we can split up some of the time I guess? what were your highlights?

Stay in a disney hotel on site (not davy crockett) so you can go in early for the magic hours - we did most stuff then, you can do loads of rides in 2 hours with no queues.

Also you get the fast passes if you stay in disney hotel - so not so much waiting and queueing.

We also 'baby swapped' on some of the bigger rides (So DH went on with DS1 while I waited at the exit with DS2, then he came out took ds2, I went in (with DS1 who got two goes!)

Definitely split up as the 'big' rides aren't all that suitable for a 2yo.

Actually 3rd plus of a disney hotel, as they are on site DH took DS2 back to the hotel as well to the pool while I went on more rides, so much more flexible.

we stayed in the newport bay club which was pretty good

oh and definitely do the buffalo bill show for an evening meal (you'll have to book) - food just about edible but great show enjoyed by all!!

Cafe mickey was also a hit with our 2yo (again must book!) food again just about passable but constant disney characters 'working' the tables. Take camera!

Hi,
There is a forum dedicated to DLP on Trip Advisor, where posters who know resort very well are always glad to help with trip planning.
Guide books can be useful in general, but as things change frequently in the parks according to season and ride closures / refurbs / maintenance, they are often out of date before even being printed!
People on DLP forums usually know what is currently going on there.

Child swop / Babyswitch mentioned by sparkle is a useful system for people who have kids of different ages, but it does mean that one child is hanging around. We did use this often when our boys were young ( 4 yr age gap ) and DS1 was very happy getting two rides, but DS2 got bored waiting with other parent. We did many rides and attractions together, but also split up sometimes so each child could choose what they wanted to do. DS2 loved swimming in the pools in the Newport Bay, so often wanted to go back there for a while. DS1 preferred to stay in the park. ( only had the Disneyland Park back then as the Studios did not open until 2002. ).

You can get Fastpass tickets from machines by some popular rides to return in a given 30 min timeslot, and avoid a long queue if parks are busy. At quiet off peak times they are not really needed so may not all be in use. Guests staying in the Disneyland Hotel are given one FP ticket per person per day for any ride with FP facility. Guests staying in Castle Club, Empire State rooms or suites get a VIP Fastpass so which lasts their whole stay.

This page explains about using Fastpass machines quite clearly. Read the small print on each Fastpass ticket you get - it tells you when you can get another one. This could be from the beginning of your current timelot OR two hours later, which ever is sooner. So sometimes you could be holding more than one FP ticket. They won't allow you to ride earlier, but are not usually bothered if you arrive later than your timeslot if you are busy doing other things.

It is hard to advise people what rides / atractions to do with children, as so much depends on their character and how brave they are. Some kids are scared more easily than others, and may not like dark rides, fast ones, or loud ones. A few rides have a minimum height requirement, and kids are measured at the ride entrance if they appear too small. They may also be measured again before boarding, so no point trying to sneak through!

I pop in here when I have time, but otherwise you can find me on the TA DLP /MLV forums which are both linked. The Top Questions lists there should help you as well.

PS. Don't pay full price for tickets for Buffalo Bills WW Show until you have checked French ticket websites. If you can get them for your dates the 6.30pm show costs ? 39 and the 9.30pm show ? 30. Same price for adults and kids aged 3-11. Check the FNAC website for BBWWS Malin tickets. You can't print them off as e-tickets, but they will post to the UK for ? 14, or you can collect them from a FNAC store in France ( eg. in Val D'Europe shopping mall, close to Disneyland ).

They are currently selling adult tickets in resort for child price, but only until February 7th. Max 6 tickets on presentation of the special offer leaflet available in resort hotels. The show does not open on Weds or Thurs all year round.
It is a great show and worth seeing, and now has Characters appearing, but full price is very steep. You don't need 1st category seating - 2nd category is fine. The seats all used to be the same price anway!

Agree that Cafe Mickey can be great fun for kids and a good way to meet Characters for photos/ video/ autographs, but be aware that some can frighten young children. My DS2 was terrified when Captain Hook came close. ( he does have a scary face and they tend to behave and interact as their Character ).
Make a reservation but not for first day - let them see some Characters in the hotel or parks first, then see how they react. If they don't like them, you can easily cancel as you don't pay in advance unless you have added it to your Disney package and already paid in £.
I don't think they can refund this, so more difficult.

If your 2 yr old daughter is keen on Princesses, you could treat her to lunch in Auberge De Cendrillon, while dad takes the boys off to do other things.
This is 3 course fine dining, and expensive, but most people say their daughters loved the interaction with the Princes and Princesses there.
You can read reviews and see photos on Trip Advisor and see menu on DLRPMagic website.

The only other place to meet one or two Princesses is in the new Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland, near the exit of Small World ride, which opened in October. Queue line can be 60 mins though!

I happened to be passing when they took down the surrounding boards, and got the first photo!

There are lots of rides & attractions that you can do as a family as well though.

NB. Buffalo Bills Wild West Show tickets from FNAC CAN now be printed off as e-tickets! This a new addition. One poster on the TA DLP forum has just done this using her UK address, and paying by Visa card, with no problems.

Tickets have to be printed off one at a time though, so print in black & white to save colour!
