French language course/holiday

I am studying French for business and am at intermediate/advanced level (probably B2). My teacher has suggested it would be useful to have a week or two full immersion in France and with some additional tuition. I would need to take DS (3) with me and will therefore need some childcare while I am studying.

My teacher suggested an intensive summer school at one of the universities, but I will need to arrange my own accommodation and childcare.

Anyone tried anything like this, or any suggestions? TIA

Finding a flat to rent for a few weeks shouldn't be a problem. I'd choose your course first and then contact the university about accommodation. They may have student accommodation in the town/city that is empty over the summer.

As for childcare, you may be best taking someone with you and renting an apartment with an extra room. Could a family member accompany you? If not, how about advertising in 'The Lady' for an au-pair or, if you prefer someone qualified, a nanny? That way you can choose a suitable English-speaking person, rather than being stuck with whatever you can find in France.
