Co-op package holidays

We've never been on a package holiday before (usually go by car or train to France and hire a cottage for a week or two), but dh fancies some sun this year, and we are already committed to a short disneyland holiday in April, so the budget is not huge for a secodpnd trip.

It's our last year with pre-school kids though, so it's probably worth spending a little more than usual, to get two holidays in term time. The question is really in general, if a deal on a package holiday seems really cheap (eg around£300 per adult for a week) - is it bound to be somewhere that you wouldnt really want to go, or do you get some genuine bargains to really nice places?

You can get bargains, but I would never book anything before asking the agent for their experience of the places or taking a rec. from a friend. I would also check out Tripadvisor.

You wouldn't invite a builder to do a job on your house without some form of references - just look at a holiday in a similar way.
