I'm a control freak person who likes to be always prepared and in about two weeks time we're off to visit my DP's family in England so cue in some major fretting on my part...
I know I need to take one nappy for every hour of our journey, spare clothes, earplugs for fellow passengers ;-) etc. etc., I already got myself a nice backpack so that I do not have to drag a suitcase while pushing a pram.
Unfortunately even thought the flight itself is only an hour an a half we will be travelling about six hours and will have to change several times ( bus-train-underground-plane-car ) - meaning DD won't get any decent sleep in the afternoon plus before we get to our final destination it will be about an hour past her normal bedtime. Would it make sense to get something like a Snooze Shade to help her nod off on our way to the airport? Or should I try carrying her around in a baby carrier? What about feeding? She has solids for her afternoon snack and her supper - should I attempt feeding her or just give her a bottle ( under normal circumstances she is a very neat eater, no spitting or fussing )?
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.. And several "don't worry, travelling with a 9 months old is not as bad as you think" :-)..

I'd definitely take a sling for the airport, if that's an option. And maybe focus on the plane being the ideal place for a decent sleep, especially if you feed her yourself at the start. Much less faff than fiddling around with bottles, though you could have one as back-up. It really isn't as bad as you think. My 2 have always risen to the occasion brilliantly on long journeys. The different travel modes and changes will be good stimulation, so try to se them as a silver lining. Good luck.
