Using starter packs to travel with FF baby - Paris to San Francisco

Hi, DH and I are moving to the US at the end of the month and will be flying via Charles de Gaulle Airport from Paris to San Francisco with DS who is now FF (will be almost 4 months by the time we fly).

Do airlines allow you to travel with readymade formula? We wanted to take one of these starter packs but assume that they won't be available to buy in CdeG airport so will have to take with us from the UK. If we e.g. took one of the bottles in the pack and opened it to taste, would clear us for the security checks? Each of the bottles is 100mls so it's within security guidelines AFAIK.

If they don't let us take it through, does anyone know if any formula is sold in CdeG airport after the security checks or what the main brands of French formula are (if any - I know bf is more common there)? Our back up plan is to take powder and bottles anyway.

I always took the ready made-up cartons of formula when I flew with DD. Never had a problem taking them through and much easier than messing about with milk and powder.

Thanks, makemine, I always use readymade formula at home and would prefer to do so on the flight as well. Air France guidelines do say that taking powdered formula on is fine and that the airline staff will help you make up bottles but it's a hassle.

The starter pack should be ideal for flying as the bottles are 100mls but I just hope I don't encounter some grumpy security guard who makes me open the bottles or taste them or something because then they're not sterile anymore!
