We have a family wedding this June in Washington, we'll be there for two days then dh has planned that we have ten days elsewhere, he has told me to choose where we go (States) Any ideas?

Will have a two year old and neither of us like blisteringly hot weather. Ds like meI loves walking/seeing things and generally being active where as dh loves his lounging and his luxury.

I'm so excited as it will be my first proper holiday for about 10 years!

What do you think? been anywhere child friendly that fits the bill?

Hi Meggmoo - I haven't been that side I'm afraid, I went to washingon state. Where do you fancy on the East coast? NY, Boston, Niagara? I'm sooo jealous, it will be fab! Try asking for east coast USA advice in your thread title, I'm sure loads of mnetters must have had hols there.

Never been but I really fancy a beach holiday to New England/Massachusetts (sp). Beaches look lovely, dont think it gets to hot.

Go and get lots of brochures and sit in the warm looking through them all. Virgin do great holidays!

Sounds like a good idea.
Perhaps I can be a bit more specific about places then too!

Thanks anyway.

Hi - we did a week on long island - so beached it - not too much walking - i'm on the sit on beach and build sand castles camp! there are a few nice sea side towns there but in hot weather might not be too much fun - how about cape cod - thats supposed to be nice but no idea how close that would be for you.hopefully someone will come along and help a bit more!

ok - we stayed 40 mins out of the city and went to jones beach most days which is really nice - but it is really deep so be prepared for 100 metres walk on sand with little one and beach kit just to get near the water!

Florida will be way too hot and humid in June.

New England should be very much like UK Summer weather. Have a look at www.individualnewengland.com They have some lovely places to rent, some on the coast, others on inland lakes which would be a relaxing way to spend a week after the wedding. Use up any spare days by going to Boston.
