We're thinking about booking a few nights here in Feb with the children - ages 3 and 2 months. It looks great but I thought I would see if it got the MN stamp of approval before I booked it.

Yes, lots of times and love it. There are quite a few threads on here about it, and not everyone has had the same experience. I know puff had a bad time with their room. The rooms do vary a lot in size, and you would probably want to be in the main building with such young ones. Happy to advise more if you want

Actually yes, sobernow has a good point. The thing I love there is sitting by the outdoor pool looking out over the fields while the children muck about. It depends what you want though- the nannies are very good and reliable if you just want a break.

Yes, we loved it last summer.

We're just going for a break, 2-3 nights. I'm looking for a really cosy place, roaring fires, good food and a nice afternoon tea. Massages for me and DH and some activities for DS. I spoke to the hotel and they have a suite available so DH and I can stay up after the children go to bed. Not sure if that would be in the main building though. Will ask and I'll look for the other threads too. Thanks so much for your help.

I did forget to ask if they have room service. That's always nice after the kiddos go to sleep.

It sounds as though it's the place for you then- it ticks all your boxes! They do room service from a room service menu but I'm not sure if that involves full meals- I think it's more snacky than the restaurant menu but should be fine. There is at least one suite (called Garden I think) that is out of the main building and very small. You'd want somewhere with space for more than a bed if you want to sit there in the evenings I would imagine John Baskerville is at the top of the main stairs and has a double room upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs. If they put a stairgate in that might work? They're usually very informative on the phone in any case. Have a nice time!
