What pushchair to take to Bruges?

We are going to Bruges on Tuesday with our 14 week old dd. Basically I have my lovely mamas and papas zoom (like a sola) that looks really smart but has smaller, hard wheels. It is great because the pushchair is parent facing and I would really like to take it with us. I am worried about the cobbles though.

I also have a 3 wheeled all terrain pushchair with pneumatic tyres that I bought off ebay for £20 that I use for muddy country tracks etc. DH and I are wondering if we would regret not taking this pushchair instead.

So... what are the cobbles like? Can I take my lovely, smart travel system style pushchair or do we really need the scruffy all terrain one? You can tell which one I'd rather take, but I don't want to regret it because we want to spend a lot of time walking around. tia

I went to Ghent and tbh found the cobbles a bit of a pain with travel system without pneumatic tyres. Very bumpy. I imagine Bruges is similar. Much as you want to take the smart one you'll probably feel silly compared to the locals who will have prams suited to the cobbles. Go native.

Thank you, I'm going to take your advice, and I bet I'll feel very glad that I did. Out today with the zoom, I noticed how it doesn't cope too well with uneven surfaces. Thanks a lot for replying to me Smile

I know nothing of fancy pants travel systems or three legged pushchairs. I do know that Bruges is very cobbley and you should take the most sprung of your selection.
The one with the better suspension will surely be easist to push and most comfortable.
Enjoy.

Bruges is VERY cobbly!

We used a sling and a bike with seat but DS was old enough to go in one by that stage. If you can get it on the plane I'd say definitely take the off-roader!

Thanks, we're going by ferry so can get the pushchair on. We've just found on eBay a mamas and papas off roader that is pretty cheap so we're going to pick that up today. Suspension will be great and it will look better than my muddy, scruffy cheapo one, also has a raincover, cosytoes and swivel wheels which cheapo doesn't. It's 60 quid but I think it will be worth it and improve our holiday no end. Really pleased I asked on here and didn't just risk it with the cobbles - think it would have really put a dampener on our time away

can you borrow a sling?

bruges is lovely. my one tip is to take plenty of warm clothes. we went about this time of year ten years ago and it was freeeeeezing! our then baby ds was cuddled up in towels we had to borrow from the hotel and me and dh were both chilly.

have a lovely time!
