Not sure if this is the right forum but I couldnt find one that seemed to fit any better so here goes =)

I'm thinking of taking my 11 mth daughter to a tumbletots group in my area and I'm wondering if any other parents could tell me if these groups are good in general and worth the fairly hefty (imo) fee of 4.20 per session.

Becky is a very active little girl and is walking rather well so I think she would enjoy some physical activity but I'd love to find out a bit more about what you get to do at the sessions.

Thank you!

I took DD to Gymbabes and then Tumbletots from 6 months to 18 months and she loved every bit of it. It was nice to be involved int he activities with her, and to be able to encourage her to explore areas safely, and to join in with other babies and toddlers. We liked it.

BTW Tumbletots has a website with more information on.

Blimey, thats a lot cheaper than around here.
Ds liked it to start with, but soon went off it. I think it was partly me though, I resented paying up front a lot of money, then dd not doing it "properly" and feeling I'd wasted my money. Ffs, he was tiny, shouldn't have to be doing things in order. I took him to a soft play play when we wanted, about a third of the price and twice the time. And a lot more fun.
But thats my opinion!

My ds loves Tumbletots and it really suits him. He started in the walking - 2s, which is just a free for all really, going on whichever equipment they want to. There's lots of climbing, bouncing, balancing and crawling through tunnels.

Now he's in 2s-3s which is more structured, and he's definitely grown in confidence and has learnt to follow instructions and wait his turn etc.

You can normally join up for a couple of taster sessions to see how you and dd get on with it before paying out for membership and full term's fees.

Thanks for the info. I checked the website and for my area you can only get a free session for the youngest age group. Having to pay 16 pounds for membership in addition to the session fees seems steep unless I know we will keep going so I think I'll take Becky for a free session first even though I think she'll be better off in the walking-2 years old group really.

Definitely phone them up about a free trial session - they may well offer you one anyway, unless there is a really big waiting list or something.

I'd phone them up and check about the taster sessions. At our group you have to pay for the sessions, but they let you do 2 sessions without membership.
