We are looking to take our two teenagers (girls) away for there first sun hoilday . We usally do carvans in not so sunny britain , so next year we decided to save hard and do the package sun trip abroad. Can anyone reccomend somewhere to take them. We dont ideally want somewhere off the beaten track as we dont really having to drive every day and really want a Luton dep. Thanks for any help ,have been looking through brochurs , every thing looks the same... Help.

A good few years since I was a travel agent but will try and help.
How long a flight do you want?
When you say teenagers, how old? Do you want nightlife/sports/activities?
Do you like the idea of all inclusive on a large complex or more a private villa/apartment?
What things do you enjoy doing as a family?
Do you have a budget?

If you don't mind a caravan have a shufti at Keycamp or Canvas Holidays....they have some great sites in France and Spain, smashing pool complexes, bars with entertaiment if you want it. Some have Teenage entertainments set up, windsurfing etc. They can be excellent.

that was quick, thaks for the replys . As we always do carvans thought we'd go for the hoel or appartment . The girls are 16 and 15. We would like a complex as they are keen to make friends , so villa's are out of question( i fancy a nice private one , no kids , have to wait a few years for one of those hoildays)They fancy day and nighttime activities , beach and swimming pools.Dont mind how long the flight , but a swe only have a week , not to long would be sensible.Budget £2,500 ish. Thanks.

Couple of suggestions then. Could go for one of the larger Greek islands. (3.5 - 4 hour flight) Some fab complexes with good facilities and you can avoid the "Brits abroad" aspect easier than if in Spain. Try Crete, Rhodes, Zante, Kos or Kefalonia. All have their 'wild' & 'quiet' resports but do have some in the middle too for best of both worlds. Portugal apartment complexes another good option. (Flight just over 2 hours) The Algarve has some lovely beaches and I found the accommodation here better kept than in Spain. You can also get some 5* options in Turkey at pretty good prices too. (Flight approx 4 hours - tip: check resort descriptions as some have long coach transfers)
With all 3 the food is varied and cheap, sun practically guaranteed and there is stuff to see if you want to. Once you have found a few choices, look on somewhere like tripadvisor.com for travellers' honest opinions - but take with a pinch of salt & look at the general view - some people will complain about anything!

Sounds great Jules. Turkey is nice as well, the people are very friendly, eating out is reasonable. We stayed near Bodrum, some areas were a bit 18-30, but most were very nice. the flight would be about 4 hours, it can be very hot in the summer.

Turkey! It's fab and cheap. We stayed in Dalyan, which is out of Dalaman. Not right on the beach, but 20 min bus ride or a boat ride down the river. Not too touristy, but loads to do (boat trips, markets, 4wd adventures, mountain biking - check out www.kaunostours.com). Oludinez is also nice, and a bit more touristy if they're old enough for nightlife.
