Busy and because it's a crush not great for very young children imo. How old are they?

Rosefairy · 12/12/2005 19:15

They should be fine then - and doubtless will find it very interesting and enjoyable. Go, but get there early.

I'm sorry to say I didn't like it at all. I think the kids would have been happier with a walk in a nearby wood. It was packed, boring and I came out feeling fleeced.

I had to wait over an hour with moaning children for dh to get us all some mediocre food at very high prices.

Mine doesn't appear to be a common experience, but consider yourself warned.

i went a couple of years back and it is amazing but unless you are really into horticulture I don't think you get your money's worth and children may find it boring once you've done the domes, also when we went it was a hot day and even hotter inside and quite claustrophobic when busy.

handlemecarefully · 13/12/2005 21:03

Don't listen to them!

We went in september this year with a 3 year old and a disabled grandad and we had the most fantastic time, there is loads for kids to see and do, i would recommend either going really early when it opens or later on. We spent a whole day there and it is a lot less crowded earlier on.

The restaurant does get busy so go early (around 12) to eat.

You can't go to this area without Eden. its fab.

handlemecarefully · 14/12/2005 09:03

That's better!

My husband (in his mid thirties) also had a fab time (and he dosen't like gardening) they had a zip line going from one end of the site to the other, our 3 year old loved watching his dad zoom past! The hot dome does get hot but there are exit points and water points to stop, along the way there are places to interest little kiddies imagination, a beach, a boat, caribbean stall, places to sniff smells, sandpit outside under willow structure, our 3 year old was in his element. And the cafe staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I just can't fault it.

I forgot to say, since 2 years ago they have built a new education centre with lots of quirky exhibitions to look at and there is a whole wall of fridges with magnets in that kids love to make messages with! I could waxlyrical about Eden, it was our highlight of our holiday to Cornwall this year
