Nice place to feed a baby in Croydon (thought putting it in travel would make it seem exotic)

Does anyone know anywhere nice in or near the main shops/Whitgift Centre in Croydon where I can go to breastfeed a baby?

Failing nice, anywhere that isn't a toilet?

a cafe with a quiet corner maybe ?

How long have you been breastfeeding ? Can you do it very confidently and discretely ? If so - then just about anywhere would probably be ok.

There is a cafe nero in the House of Fraser in Centrale. It's really tucked away so that might suit. Also the Auberge restaurant upstairs in Whitgift.

The baby changing room in the Whitgift is also o.k. if you´re not feeling so confident. There are some comfy chairs tucked round the corner from the baby changing area. It´s on the second floor near the Auberge restaurant. Alternatively the cafe in Books etc. is often quite quiet, but the chairs aren´t very comfortable.

Thanks all. Have been bfing for 6.5 months but still not very confident about cafes, etc. I live in France most of the time and public bfing isn't very popular here.

So think would rather stick with a baby changing area. Am grateful for the tip about the baby change place by the Auberge.

Would second huppa's suggestion for the dedicated baby room on the top level of the Whitgift - it's quite quiet, with decent chairs.

If you can get the comfier seats in the M&S cafe, also good.

Pop over to the Centrale centre and try Starbucks on the top floor.

If you're heading down towards the High Street then the cafe/restaurant attached to the library is failry child friendly (many happy years of toddlers having lunch there)
