hello everyone, we're thinking of taking us and our 2yr old to Jersey for a few weeks next summer-but never having been I was hoping that you might be able to offer some recommendations.
I've heard that St Aubins is nice? We're looking for a seaside resort with some nice family restaurants, we're going to book the flight and accomodation ourselves so any suggestions on accomodation would also be appreciated.
Be really grateful for any feedback. Thanks

Can't help with Jersey, but if want to come to Guernsey (which is far more beautiful than Jersy. IMO!) I can give you all the info you want!

www.jersey.com

That should be able to help you with the accomodation etc and planning.

I recommend coming over during the battle of flowers in the first week of august. Its not a cheap day out, but littlies love it and its a great atmosphere with the floats and bands etc

Restaurant wise.. if you are planning on driving there a few restaurants on the north coast which are lovely and iirc have kiddies playarea sections too.

St Brelade has a lovely, clean beach and there is a restaurant called Zanzibar with an enclosed balcony overlooking the beach and there is also a very family friendly Pizza Express (I think that's what it's called - part of one of those Pizza chains anyway)which is also on the beach at St Brelade.
Can also recommend the pottery - can do a hand /foot print on a plate and get it glazed and the cafe is very family friendly.

Ok, trying not to tread on any toes (I love Jersey too!!) But IMO Guernsey is prettier and quieter than Jersey, more quaint! I think that Jersey is too similar to the main-land.

Saying that, there is not alot for older children to do here, no arcades or fun fairs (unless you count the travelling ones!) We do have bowling alley and a carting track, and a small cinema if it's not beach weather.

We have fabulous beaches all around the Island, we are in the North of the Island and generally use the beaches in the north but there are some lovely coves on the South coast.

Most of the restuarants cater well for children, there are a couple of soft play areas, The Strawberry Farm having indoor and outdoor areas to play and great food.

There are no fast food places here (no McDonald's, Pizza Hut, KFC etc.,) but there are some nice places to get take away food in town.

Town is pretty small so don't come here if you want tax free shopping!!! I mean for clothes as we have electrical, music and jewellery shops that are tax free.

Look at guernsey tourist info

It usually works out cheaper if you book flights/ferry crossing and hotels seperately.

If you want any more info feel free to ask away!

HAVE to agree. When you arrive to Guernsey by boat all you see is green. Jersey greets you with concrete.
As much as I love Jersey [missing it like mad atm cause i'm in the UK] Guernsey is a lot prettier as they've yet to sell out to anyone who can afford it living there and buying land for housing. If I could marry a Guernsey man i'd be there in a shot!

P.S Jersey isnt all bad.. We have the nicer cows lmao
