My ds (20 months) is too big for a travel cot and too small to sleep in a regular single bed without raised edges/rails as he will wriggle himself out of it. Mattress on the floor?

yeah sounds good

Depends what sort of traveling you are doing. We used to take a bed side with us although I think DS was still in a travel cot at 20 months.

Readybed? (inflatable with integral sleeping bag thingy).

Bozza · 08/12/2005 10:08

Readybed is a good idea because they are less likel to roll off because of being contained by the sleeping bag.

Ready bed

Still using a travel cot at 24 months (ds2 is about average weight but a bit taller than average 2 yr old) Ds1 was in travel cot till about 2.5 but he was quite small. After that he was fine coping in a big bed - I think we took a bed side with us a couple of times but they are quite bulky for travelling.
A ready bed is quite narrow - would be a bit worred about falling off (not that it would hurt them, just stop them sleeping well!) - think a larger mattress on the floor might work better.

What about a proper cot size travel cot? (if you know nayone who you can borrow one off?)

nomad travel cot, dd 20mths has 'tons' of room left in hers.

Ds slept in middle of king size bed and dh and I slept in single beds in the childrens room of the motel - worked well.
