Making a bath from a shower tray?

Hi all
We are going on holiday and staying in places that don't have a bath. Someone suggested using a universal plug to cover the shower plug hole to make the tray into a bath.

Does this work and can anyone suggest a suitable plug? I can only find universal bath plugs.

Thanks.

If it's for bathing a baby or small child, last year when we went on holiday (caravan with a shower), we bought an incredibly small paddling pool (it really was tiny 50cms diameter) from the £1 shop. It worked brilliantly for washing our dc's who were 18 months and 5 at the time.

shower trays are realy shallow, tiny paddling pool sounds great.

We don't have a bath at home so use a large baby bath for the dc to use when they feel like it as the shower tray is just too shallow.

Sometimes you can buy toy inflatable boats which could double as a baby bath at sea side resorts.

Depends what you're trying to do! If a quick scrub down to get them clean, then a suckered bath toy will do. If a proper sit and play in it bath, unless it's a very deep shower tray, then you're better off acquiring an alternative. We've always managed with the quick scrub down option.

You can buy inflatable travel baby baths. We used one when DD was 9 months old and it worked perfectly - just a very small version of a paddling pool really and it would fit inside a shower tray.

if you can't get a paddling pool - use your empty suitcase (hardcase ones work best) Wink

We always did the paddling pool/inflatable boat thing - on the terrace/balcony/garden according to where we were staying. Dd loved an alfresco bath Grin

something like this?

Depends where you are going.
Lot's of bathless places I have stayed in abroad have a wetroom style shower so covering the plug would flood the whole room.
When we go to the caravan DS2 gets bathed in the plastic storage box we use for taking food there.
In my Grandpas we just put a face cloth over the drainage hole and his shower tray fills up nicely.
The poundland pool is agood idea.

Can't you do without just for a week or two?

We used a variety of things - portable travel bath, universal plug and plastic washing up bowl. for short trips though we used to just do a strip down complete wash which seemed OK.
