WWYD??? Wedding of a lifetime in Rome, 33 weeks pg, need to fly...

I'm dithering big time. I have been invited to a wedding near Rome on the August bank holiday weekend and therefore need to fly but will be 33 weeks pregnant. The family would completely understand my reasons if I didn't go, but I really do want to attend...plus, it's a wedding of a lifetime - bit of an A lister do, in a castle overlooking a lake, accommodation included etc, etc, plus it will be the last weekend alone with my hubby before no 2 arrives (childcare for ds sorted) It's a 3 day affair but we would only go for the actual wedding itself...BUT, I'm nervous about flying so late in my pregnancy. I've been healthy so far but worried that (like last time) I got extremely big and very uncomfortable in the last trimester. So, even if I got a 'fit to fly' certificate from my doc, I might be so lumbering and huge and have such fat ankles that I may not be in any fit state physically and emotionally to fly!

I could pay for the flights and try and find some travel insurance to cover late cancellation due to pregnancy, but this still doesn't make me any less nervous about travelling at 33 weeks.

What to do? Anyone got experiences of flying so late in pregnancy?

Envy very jealous! Some googling gave away the bride pretty easily! Oh you must go!

Yes, I admit it would have been lovely to go but I'm pretty resigned now. I'm sad I won't be there for her big day, and that it would be a fabulous experience in its own right, but, hey, I can use the sacrifice to emotionally blackmail my dd later in life...isn't that what we have kids for? I had to give up my tickets for the last concert oasis were together for when I was pg with ds so future dd is already trumping that one.

I got to see Rihanna play at her engagement party so some consolation there. And dh has promised to take me away for the evening somewhere closer to home. desperately trying to feel better

Ooooh which famous people were at engagement do???

Well, I was told Princess Beatrice was there but didn't see her, saw a couple of hairdressers (male couple) who I vaguely recognised but didn't know their names, and Tamara Beckwith. I'm sure there were others as these events I think have a PR whirlwind behind them inviting people who aren't truly close to the family. It's a totally different world.

However, despite what people might think, they are as down to earth as someone in their position can be - let's face it, not many people like that stay in contact with their old teachers 4 years after they've finished being taught be them.
