Looking for a recommendation for a show that would be enjoyed by a three-year-old, a five-year-old and possibly some of their friends and not too gruelling for adults. London. Any thoughst gratefully received.

Not sure but when you've found it can we come too?

starlover · 14/11/2005 16:12

hmm chitty chitty bang bang?

GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:14

Oh yes mi, inferiorettes a bonus. Does chitty chitty bang bang cost a million pounds a ticket?

starlover · 14/11/2005 16:15

it isn't that expensive i don't think. i took my friend for her birthday a couple of years ago and it was fab

i think i got midrange tickets and we were up in one of the circles... which gave us a fabby view! much b etter than the super expensive stalls!

GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:17

On a similar topic, would it be mad to take children to iceskating rink in front of Natural History museum when they ahve never skated and I haven't for twenty years?

Thanks starlover, I will look into it, it does sound nicer than dragging out to somewhere to watch cbeebies characters performing or similar (although maybe that's good, any views?)

OP posts:
starlover · 14/11/2005 16:18

probably... but i bet it'd be fun too!

motherinferior · 14/11/2005 16:18

Yes.

Especially since your ahem centre of gravity is not in its Usual Place.

It will all end in skidding and tears. Well, it would with my two anyway.

binkie · 14/11/2005 16:20

think CCBB has closed in London now, hasn't it? On tour in the provinces instead. Isn't there Lion King?

GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:20

I did wonder about the centre of gravity issue,mi, mine not being that grand in the first place. They went to see the dinosaurs at the weekdn and now have te skating in their heads but I have a vision of us all ending up dead on the ice.

hoxtonchick · 14/11/2005 16:20

snowman i reckon

GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:21

Ah, there I am snubbing cbeebies and it's not even available...

OP posts:
GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:21

Snowman sounds Christmassy, will look at that too, thanks, hc

motherinferior · 14/11/2005 16:22

Dead Family On Ice not good look, really.

GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:23

Not festive is it? Had this mad idea that when they ahd enjoyed the dinosaurs we would all pootle over and see Diane Arbus. hahahaha

hoxtonchick · 14/11/2005 16:24

took ds & cousins last year who were 2x nearly 3 & nearly 5 respectively and they all adored it. nostalgic for adults too.

starlover · 14/11/2005 16:25

binkie you're right... chitty chitty has closed in london now

I have seen the lion king too, but it was reeeeeeeeeally long and i got really fidgety before it was even halfway through!!!

motherinferior · 14/11/2005 16:26

so GoN can I nick your fabulous feature idea, then (see email)?

GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:29

Hey mi, didn't see your email - maybe mine not working properly? You welcome to any ideas that are at all useful though.

OP posts:
binkie · 14/11/2005 16:30

Ah, didn't know that about LK (haven't been). Have heard that Mary Poppins isn't suitable for under-sixes.

So, yes, Snowman sounds ideal. Which reminds me I mean to take mine. Otherwise we're doing Young Vic Tintin, but I would've thought that a bit much for 3yo.

GhostofNatt · 14/11/2005 16:30

Oh chitty etc has closed, not dubious =cbeebies show, all is clear, sounding like snowman is the one.

We are going to see Cbeebies just before Christmas - not London though.

Abiut the ice skating - I toook DD skating ealrlier int he year. She was just turned 3. Last time I skated was at least 15 years ago. It was fun but hard work. To start witht he holding up of DD and myself was tough going, but she was soon tottering around the rink on her own having fun, whilst I teetered around behind trying not to fall over!

pipsqueak · 02/12/2005 13:52

has anyone been to the c beebies show before ? tickets seem a bit procey and just wnated to check if it is worth it b4 trying to book. naycomments gratefully recieved.

IlanaK · 02/12/2005 14:00

What about The Gruffalo? We are going in early January. Its closed in the West End but is playing at The Hampstead Theatre which is right by Swiss Cottage Tube station.

merrySOAPBOXingday · 02/12/2005 14:03

Definately the snowman in my book!
