we are going to menorca for a week with DS1 who will be 8 during our stay and DS2 who will be 3 in July. I just wondered if there's a "knack" to it? EG how do you avoid getting the kids' meals first then sitting down for your own only to find they've finished and want to get down? Do you need to stay at the hotel all day to get the best value? (Thinking of taking cool bag in case they do picnics)Do the kids wants chips and ice cream all day? Do you need to take any plastic crockery for little one? Thanks

Thanks, I hadn't thought about getting DS1 to be my butler! Will also consider giving dcs 3 courses but only have 2 myself to give me a bit more time (am a very slow eater). Just hoping they do squash type drinks and fruit for the dcs. Must go, getting hungry just thinking about it, not to mention a whole week of not shopping, washing, chopping, grating, cooking, clearing up!

rara67 I have a 5, 3 year old and 4 month old, this is the 3rd year we will be going all inclusive. There is lots of fruit, yogurt etc for the kids, our two didn't want ice-cream and chips all day but they didn't eat an awful lot, they tend to go off their food a bit in the heat.

As well as the restaurants, the pool bar was also included which was really handy as they could get something to eat, when we weren't hungry, then when we were having dinner (before the mini-disco Grin) they could just nibble at some bits and pieces while nosying at everyone else.

They could also have ice-cream, crisps, and slush puppies at the bar. There was loads of fizzy juice, fruit juice, water and milk for them to drink, there was no dilutable juice as such, I brought out some drinks flasks with me any way for the beach and I actually made up juice for them

wigglesrock - thanks was planning to get some school water bottles as they're easy to clean and doesnt matter if they get lost (unlike precious Toystory one!) They both have very healthy appetites so I am more worried about them over eating than there not being enough (DH and I may need to have a rota as to who sits with DS2 while he wades through the whole buffet!) However it's only for a week, so not long enough for any of us to develop bad habits (I hope!)
