Anyone else been to Union Lido in Italy?

We are going next week flying into Treviso and wondering what to do about transfer to the holiday park. We could get a couple of buses but they seem to take hours and worried about the kids patience (they are 3 and 4) after being up from 4am and spending 3 hours on the plane. However hiring a car will be expensive and it is unlikely we would be using it much round the area. Taxis cost about £100 each way which is also pretty dear. Has anyone done the bus thing and can reassure me that it is ok really??

We went to Ca'Savio which is a bit further along than Union Lido and I thought the coach/bus journey was fine. The coach stop is right outside the airport, you will need change in Euros to buy a ticket from the machine (I think it was about 25E for all of us) and the coach stops in the bus station.

I would do the coach again if I went to the Lido di Jesolo so hope that is reassurring :)

Thank you! I was talking to a woman in work this morning and she said that she has been to Union Lido twice and thought the bus was brilliant. She only has one child who was 7 plus at the time so maybe he was a bit easier to handle than our two! Did you have to change buses at Lido di Jesolo and do you pay for the second bus on the bus or through another machine?

We've been - and really enjoyed it. You don't need a car - there is loads to do on site - and they offer excursions if you feel the need to get out for the day. Venice is easily doable by bus/boat.

We did get an airport transfer though. 100 euros each way for an airconditioned Mercedes (carseat provided) and a lovely driver who knew all the shortcuts. The traffic heading to the coast was Horrendous - but we went end of June so maybe not a problem. It was well worth the money in my opinion. Entirely stressfree - and we arrived 2.5 - 3 hours earlier than the other people on our flight who took the bus. We were in the bar enjoying a cold beer, all unpacked, before they arrived.

Taxi is definitely an option as would still be cheaper than a car and if we are only going to use the car to and from the airport then it is pretty pricey.

It obviously depends on your budget, DD was 3 then. I would not have done it any other way, personally.

My kids were 2, 5 and 7 at the time. The coach and bus took about an hour and a half though we arrived about 8pm so traffic wasn't a problem. We made sure we had wheely suitcases but in the end we put them on the buggy and just pushed that and the kids walked from the bus stop to the campsite (about half a mile).

Yes, we did have to pay for the bus again but it was maybe 8E total I think.

Have you looked at the coach timetable online to see if there is one after your flight?
