We are thinking about taking a week in a mobile home in the Dordogne at half-term. Does anyone have experience of the weather there at the end of May please?

We went in June but I think we had freak weather as it was cold and one day there was a humungeous hail stone storm, the last day was sunny and they said it was more like that normally. I'm not sure it would be sunbathing weather but should be pleasant. Loved the Dordogne though, last year we went back and stayed inJuly which was extra warm.

Here are the weather statistics for Bergerac. May is currently looking average temperatures, maybe a it warmer, but very pleasant weather getting up to low to mid-twenties. If you have a look at that page you will also find rainfall and sunshine, and you can see what it looks like in previous years. Only you can decide if that's potentially nice enough weather for your holiday. Of course, you might get some freak weather like rookiemater had.

And you can find the current weather forecast from here

We were there at Easter a few weeks ago and it was HOT! - low to mid 20's every day of the week we were there. Whitsun half term should have a higher probability of good weather but there is never any guarantees.

Many thanks all, that is great. I have gone ahead and made the booking. Gone for the biggest mobile home available so even if we do get stuck indoors on some days we should have room for us all.

No problem, some of my comments are probably more relevant for younger children, but hopefully some of the info is of use,. we love the Dordogne, off to Portugal for a change this year

It's a good few years since we last went to the Dordogne. I hope you have a great time in Portugal. Many thanks again for the tips.
