They do driving lessons for 11-17 year olds (over 150cm) in a 1.2litre Seat. Thought about this for a post Sats treat for 11y.o.DS. He's done Argocats all terrain vehicles but would this be too much for him.Anyone tried this? Thanks.

Don't know about that one, but my brothers were in something called the under 17 car club. That let people learn to drive on courses set up at race tracks in their parents car once they were talk enough to reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel.

If your son likes cars, I expect he'd love it.

Thanks Barbeasty, we have a Cardrome place near us where learner drivers can drive parents cars but don't know about the age limits. The attraction of YD is they have instructors and not my car (manky old nissan but I'm fond of it ) and after going on argocats and go-carts with DS he's not getting his cloven hooves on my cars pedals Grin

I htink Mecedes do similar at MercedesWorld (near Worthing? sorry, can't remember!) - iirc, you can go out in an A class if you are a young driver - round the test track etc. More experienced drivers can book in to any of the MErcedes models they have there, for varying prices!
