xmas in paris..accommodation..babysitting..advice needed

I am hoping to go to Paris for 3 nights this year with dp and 18 month old.
Basically we are just going to go and walk/eat/drink (can't wait).
Anyway, I am stumped about the accommodation. As our daughter is a light sleeper, if we get a double room to share for the 3 of us we will be lying in the dark in the evenings if we stay in, and if we stay in a hotel with babysitting on request then the babysitter will have to sit silently in the dark?
Are we forced to get an expensive suite or do the hotels that offer 'babysitting' mean baby listening - in which case they won't have to be in the room?

Or we could get a monitor and the babysitter could sit in the lounge/reception..but do monitors work in hotels properly, or would there be too much interference?
What sort of prices are babysitters in Paris? Where can I go for in-depth advice on this sort of thing?

If anyone could give me any sort of help or advice at all, I'd be very grateful.

This one on Champs Elysees has two rooms, bit pricey due to location.

Better price and good location, near Cite science centre.

Citea Paris Tour Eiffel, Citea Philippe Auguste (e90 p.r.p.n.), Citea La Défense - Léonard de Vinci, Citea La Défense - Lilas d?Espagne all seem to have suites with two rooms.

Steer clear of mezzanine studios as the upper level is up very steep stairs with horizontal bars to climb up. Like the ones at Citea Saint Denis - Pleyel which is not a great area at night as well.

Just a thought, but might you be better to hold off until they've stopped going mental?
