Ryanair or Easyjet?

We're looking at booking for Barcelona in September from Liverpool to fly with me, DH and a 2yr old and 6mth old and when we look at transfer costs from the different airports they both cost approx the same.

Has anyone got any advice on which would be the best to pick in this case? Is there much difference between the two?

I fly both but prefer easy jet as their baggage allowance for carryon is more relaxed. As long as you abide by ryanair's rules you'll be ok (I recalled this as I was jamming my case into the sizing cage under the insistence of the stewardess who was trying to make me pay for excess lu ggage!).

I fear I may have jinxed my next flight...

Have found both J2 and Easyjet to be fine. Have not flown Ryanair.

I would prefer easyjet to ryanair.
but with both only one piece of handluggage is allowed (babie*s stuff needs to go into your handluggage).

Ryanair are cheap if you read the small print. If you don't, they can be a nightmare to deal with. I find easy jet easier to deal with and they are generally more humane if you have problems, especially if you are travelling with kids
There is a gag about O'Leary going into a pub in Dublin and asking for a pint of guinness. Barman says, "that will be one euro." O'Leary says, "Wow, that's cheap!"
Barman says, "Yeah, it is but do you want a glass with it?"
