Where to celebrate a 2 year old's birthday in Paris?

Feeling slightly guilty that we're going to be in Paris on DS2's second birthday. Can anyone recommend a good place to celebrate the day?

DS1 is 5. Both boys are quite well behaved and very restaurant-trained but not splendid eaters and DS2 has the attention span of.... well a two year old, so nothing too challenging. We're staying in central Paris.

TIA

I'd second the jardin d'accimatation - our recently-turned-two-year-old loved it when we went. There are lots of 'play stops' on the way round the zoo/menagerie which went down very very well.

You were looking for a restaurant recommendation and I notice that no-one has recommended one for you. It's probably because Paris restos don't tend to be very child friendly (we were certainly never offered paper and crayons at the table in any we went to when we lived there - coming back to the UK was a revalation!). I've been trying to think of a resto in central Paris to suggest - but while we have lots and lots that we love to go to, and did go to with our young DCs, I'm not sure about one to recommend for a special birthday for a little one

The Jardin d'acclimatation in the Bois de Bologne, great for kids of that age, easy to get to. Best way to get there is on the little 'steam' train from Port Maillot. Our son had his 3rd birthday there and loved it

Sorry only read the first page - now I see it has already been mentioned Blush

Oh thank you for the further thoughts. Culturemulcher, I'm being a bit of a coward about restaurants really. We've been to all sorts of places with our boys and not been overly worried about it (been harder since DS2 came along). So long as there are frites on the menu we will really be okay with anywhere so long as the service isn't desperately slow or snooty.

We took DS1 when he was about 18 months to the restaurant in the Musee d'Orsay (Grandma's birthday treat) and they were amazing in there with him so perhaps we'll go back...

Yonker thanks for the info about the steam train - sounds lovely. However, the weather is turning where I am in southern England so maybe picnics won't be the order of the day after all (we're going next week)
