im ashamed to admit that I'm lost for ideas to do near my home-North East

Not the big things like theme parks or museums,something more 'nature' with not alot to do except picnic,walks,maybe a small park or river or few animals and prefferably free or cheap!!

I ,live near Beamish Museum if that helps,children are ages 11,7 and 1 tia x

I'm in whitley bay & i know what you mean about needing inspiration sometimes! Forbidden corner is brilliant but yes dont go if kids are sensitive! Also Brimham Rocks near harrogate (ish) its a national trust place and there are acres of land with huge rocks to clamber over and ....not much else! My kids are 9 & 12 (boy & girl) and are theme park addicts but this is their favourite 'nature' place to go to
