Kamari, Santorini - With a baby!!

We're off on holiday to Santorini in May with DS, who will be 8 months. Really looking forward to it, tho, of course, slightly dreading the journey there!!

Kamari looks like a nice town but not a huge place, and early/mid May is still quite off season. I'm very aware of the baggage weight restrictions and I don't want to be completely loaded down when we travel in any event but I'm wondering about how easy it will be to get stuff over there like jarred baby food, formula, baby juice etc. DS isn't a fussy eater but since we'll have very limited/basic kitchen facilities over there I don't foresee us having a blender etc and it would be handy to use jars. But packing enough jars/porridge/formula/juice to last for 10 days seems like it will be very heavy!!

Anyone been to Kamari? Any well stocked supermarkets where we're likely to be able to find this stuff? Or would the general consensus just to bring everything we need with us...and no clothes! heh...

Thanks :)

Not sure how helpful this is but Hmm although I haven't been to Santorini I have been to some fairly quiet places in Greek Islands and mainland and never had a problem buying food and juice and other baby related supplies for the DCs when they were babies. Not sure about formula.

There is a horribly expensive company that will ship stuff across for you if you can afford that ... I think it's called Tots to Go or Tots Away. But I bet you can get anything you need. I went to Santorini a few years ago without kids and the towns on the island are big enough to have a decent supermarket, I think you will be fine - you probably won't get the brand of formula you use in the UK though. jars will be no problem.

Cool, thanks for your help! I might just bring formula and a couple of jars to tide us over til we get to the supermarket then - the alternatives of having to pay Tots to Go or bring a whole other suitcase crammed full of food don't seem too appealing lol
